Do I need approval if I only rent occasionally?
Not if you stay under 90 nights per year. The 90-night exemption means you can rent short-term without council approval as long as you don't exceed that threshold in any 12-month period.
What counts as 'hosted'?
Hosted means you live at the property during your guests' stay. Hosted STRA is exempt from development approval requirements everywhere in WA.
How long does the process take?
Budget 8-12 weeks from lodgement. The City will assess your application under the new LPP 2.5 guidelines.
