Do I need DA if I'm under 90 nights?
No. Rockingham is a Perth metro council and the standard 90-night exemption applies. Under 90 nights, state registration is all that's required.
My property is in Secret Harbour or Safety Bay — does the same apply?
Yes. Secret Harbour, Safety Bay, Port Kennedy, and Warnbro are all within the City of Rockingham local government area. The same STRA requirements apply.
The LPP is waiting for ministerial approval — should I still apply?
Contact the City's Planning team before lodging to confirm the current status. Applications lodged before the policy takes full effect may still be assessed under existing scheme provisions.
How long does assessment take?
Standard WA planning timeframe is 60 days from lodgement. Applications requiring advertising take longer. Confirm with the City at time of lodgement.
